Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 23, 2026
This Cookie Policy describes how we use "cookies" and other similar technologies in connection with our Site and Services. Any capitalized term used and not otherwise defined below has the meaning assigned to it in the Privacy Policy.
1. What is a Cookie?
Cookies are small text files that are stored in a computer's browser directory. They help site providers with things like understanding how people use a site, remembering a User's login details, and storing site preferences. We use cookies as well as similar technologies (e.g., URL tracking, local storage). For the purpose of this Cookie Policy, such technologies are included in the term 'cookies'.
2. Does Garfield use Cookies?
Yes. We use cookies in accordance with our Privacy Policy to:
- Ensure that our Services function properly,
- Detect and prevent fraud and violations of our terms of service,
- Understand how visitors use and engage with our Site,
- Analyze and improve our Services and your Site experience including improved relevancy and navigation, customizing your user experience (such as language preference and region-specific content), and curating content that's tailored to you.
3. Who Sets Cookies When I Use Our Site?
There are two main types of cookies that can be set:
- First party cookies: these cookies are placed and read by us directly when you use our Services,
- Third party cookies: these cookies are not set by us, but by other companies, like Google, for site analytics purposes.
4. How We Use Cookies
Cookies play an important role in helping us provide effective and safe Services. We distinguish between 3 different types of cookies:
Essential Cookies
Some cookies are essential to the operation of our Site and Services and make it usable and secure by enabling basic functions like page navigation and access to secure areas of the Site. We use those cookies in a number of different ways, including:
- Authentication. To remember your login state so you don't have to log in as you navigate through our Site and dashboard.
- Fraud Prevention and Detection. Cookies and similar technologies that we deploy through our Site help us learn things about computers and web browsers used to access the Services. This information helps us monitor for and detect potentially harmful or illegal use of our Services.
- Security. To protect user data from unauthorized access.
- Operational. To keep our Site and Services working correctly, like showing you the right information for your selected location.
Product analytics cookies
We analyze how signed-in users interact with the product itself to keep it stable and to improve it — for example, through Mixpanel and Sentry (including error monitoring and session replay, which is anonymized). For signed-in users this relies on our legitimate interest; for other visitors we ask for your consent first. This does not use advertising cookies.
Marketing analytics cookies
With your consent, we use marketing and attribution technologies to understand how people reach our Site and to measure our marketing. These include Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google signals, Google Ads, and the LinkedIn Insight Tag, delivered through Google Tag Manager. Where we use advertising or conversion-measurement features we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Cookies we set
The table below lists the main cookies and similar technologies we use, their purpose and how long they last. Non-essential cookies are only set after you consent (or, for product analytics, when you use the product as a signed-in user), and are removed if you withdraw consent.

Google Tag Manager may set additional third-party marketing cookies (for example, from Google and LinkedIn) once you consent to marketing; these are managed by those providers under their own policies.
5. Can I opt-in and opt-out?
Yes. We use cookies in accordance with applicable law and depending on the country or jurisdiction you are located in, we will ask for your prior consent before non-essential cookies are being used, or offer you the option to opt-out of non-essential cookies.
You can manage your cookie preferences through our Cookie Settings page. You will also see a Cookie Consent Banner when you first visit our site.
Your web browser may also allow you to manage your cookie preferences, including to delete and disable our cookies. You can take a look at the help section of your web browser to understand your options. If you choose to disable cookies, some features of our Site or Services may not operate as intended.
